Role Summary
We are looking for a process-driven Senior Accountant / Client Account Manager to own a portfolio of CAS and tax clients. This is a high-impact, client-facing role where you will act as the primary point of contact, ensuring that both monthly accounting and annual tax filings are accurate and proactive. You will bridge the gap between day-to-day bookkeeping and high-level tax strategy, mentoring junior staff while giving business owners the clarity and no-surprises experience they deserve.
Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Ownership: Act as the primary advisor for a book of individual and business clients, managing relationships and proactively addressing their needs.
  • CAS Oversight: Oversee monthly closes, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Review work from junior staff to ensure GAAP compliance and on-time delivery.
  • Tax Leadership: Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership returns (1040, 1120S, 1065). Develop tax strategies and manage all filing deadlines.

  • Experience: 4+ years in public accounting with hands-on experience in both client accounting (QBO) and tax preparation (1040/1120S/1065).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or EA strongly preferred (or actively pursuing).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and CCH Axcess preferred. Strong ability to explain complex concepts in plain language.
  • Leadership: Prior experience in a client-facing senior or manager role with experience reviewing the work of others.
  • Work Style: Comfortable in a 100% cloud-based environment using tools like Asana and Teams.

Compensation/Benefits
  • Salary: $82,000 – $95,000 annually.
  • Flexibility: Mostly-remote work environment with flexible scheduling, provided core client hours are maintained.
  • Career Path: Direct collaboration with the CEO and a clear path to leadership for high-performers.

Why This Opportunity is Different
You will have real autonomy over your portfolio and the chance to reduce fire drills through better systems and proactive planning. We offer a culture that prioritizes quality over quantity and values sustainable balance alongside close-knit collaboration with firm leadership.
