Overview

As the Accounting Manager - Fanatics Markets & Emerging Businesses, you will be at the centerย of the day-to-day accounting operations for Fanatics' prediction markets platform and otherย emerging business lines. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing the month-endย close process across multiple legal entities, preparing and reviewing financial statements, andย ensuring the completeness and accuracy of our financials in a fast-moving, regulatedย environment.
You will serve as a key connector across the organization - partnering with Finance on budgetsย and forecasts, collaborating with Shared Services and Technical Accounting on transactions,ย and working closely with the business to stay ahead of new developments and ensure they areย properly reflected in our financial reporting. You will also own our regulatory reportingย obligations, ensuring filings are accurate and delivered on time. This role offers the opportunityย to build deep expertise at the intersection of accounting, financial markets, and regulatoryย compliance while contributing to a growing team.
Responsibilities
Manage the month-end close process across multiple legal entities, ensuring timelyย and accurate completion
Review journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledgerย analyses for completeness and accuracy
Ensure transactions are properly recorded and allocated across legal entities inย accordance with accounting and regulatory requirements
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordanceย with US GAAP and IFRS
Own the regulatory reporting calendar, ensuring all filings with the NFA, CFTC, and otherย governing bodies are accurate and submitted on time
Stay current on regulatory developments and proactively assess the impact on ourย reporting and accounting processes
Support external audits and assist with statutory reporting and tax compliance
Help maintain and strengthen internal controls (including SOX) across the business
Partner with Finance to understand budgets and forecasts, providing accountingย context and ensuring alignment between actuals and plan
Work closely with business stakeholders to stay ahead of operational and productย developments and ensure they are appropriately captured in the financials
Collaborate with Shared Services on transactional accounting and with Technicalย Accounting on complex or non-routine transactions
Identify and drive process improvements across accounting workflows to supportย accuracy, efficiency, and scale
Support and develop team members, helping build a high-performing accountingย function
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of closeย processes and financial statement preparation
Strong foundation in US GAAP; IFRS knowledge a plus
Experience in financial markets, trading environments, or regulated industries (e.g.,ย broker-dealer, exchange, commodities, gaming) strongly preferred
Familiarity with NFA/CFTC regulations or similar regulatory frameworks is highlyย desirable
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with financial systems and ERPย platforms preferred
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines acrossย multiple entities
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance,ย accounting, and business teams
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and proactively manage throughย ambiguity
