Description
The Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place Hotel is hiring an Accounting Manager. The hotel accounting manager oversees the daily financial operations, accounting staff, and reporting processes of a hospitality property to ensure compliance and profitability. This position will report to the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Daily Operations: Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, and daily cash or credit card reconciliations.
โ€ข Financial Reporting: Prepare month-end closings, balance sheet reconciliations, trial balances, and accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
โ€ข Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the Director of Finance or Controller with annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
โ€ข Compliance & Auditing: Oversee internal and external audits, manage tax filings (sales, use, and occupancy taxes), and maintain internal financial controls.
โ€ข Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule property accounting staff while promoting cross-departmental coordination.
Qualifications
โ€ข Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
โ€ข Experience: 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a supervisory or hospitality industry background.
โ€ข Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with general ledger or specialized hotel property management systems (PMS).
โ€ข Soft Skills: Excellent multitasking, communication, and deadline-driven problem-solving abilities.
