Job description

The Hotel Accounting Managers oversee a property's daily financial operations, managing revenue reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. They collaborate with department heads to draft budgets, enforce internal controls, and provide strategic insights to ensure profitability and compliance with hospitality standards.




Compensation:

$60,000 - $65,000 yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end statements, variance analysis, and flash reports.
  • Income Auditing & Cash Management: Supervise daily reconciliation of rooms, food, and beverage deposits, verify flash reports, and manage petty cash.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR): Oversee vendor payments, process vouchers, manage direct billing, and handle credit card chargebacks.
  • Payroll & Budgeting: Process bi-weekly payroll, track financial performance, and assist in drafting annual operating budgets and forecasting.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Enforce financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).

Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is typically preferred.
  • Experience: 1 to 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in hospitality or multi-unit property environments.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience with accounting and property management software (such as M3, Profitsword)
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial department managers.
