Role Summary
The Senior Project Manager leads the successful delivery of multiple projects and project teams, accountable for scope, schedule, budget, and overall project health. This role provides clear direction and delegation, manages client expectations, and drives predictable outcomes by proactively planning resources, tracking performance, and managing risk and change throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
  • Has accountability and owns all aspects of multiple projects and project teams.
  • Leads the project team through delegating clear direction and ownership of tasks.
  • Manages the projects and project team to create a consistent project direction and deliverables.
  • Functions as the gatekeeper for project profitability. Creates and issues proposals that show BHDP's value to the client and merge the scope, fee and timeframe.
  • Manages clientโ€™s expectations related to scope, fee, and timeframe adjustments throughout the project.
  • Ensures project team members are maximizing project support aligned to their skillset.
  • Update project plans within our project management systems to allow for proactive and accurate resource planning.
  • Partner with internal operational leaders to identify and resolve project staffing needs, aligning project needs to employee skills.
  • Educate the project team of project deliverables including budget and schedule and provide regular updates on results to drive team accountability and knowledge.
  • Provide regular updates to the team related to projected and actual time allocations, project milestones, design process milestones and overall project health.
  • Meets regularly with the project team members to support development of employees.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Architecture (NAAB accredited program preferred), Interior Design (CIDA accredited program preferred), or other relevant design or construction related program.
  • 12+ years in the design and/or architecture industry
  • Architectural License, or NCIDQ Certification, preferred
  • Advanced Revit knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of production-ready visualization capabilities (SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion).
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management systems (VantagePoint preferred)
  • Demonstrated capability to delegate, coach, and raise team performance
  • Demonstrated initiative; sees challenges as opportunities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration within a team
  • Models professional workplace behaviors: reliable follow-through, constructive feedback, and calm, solutions-oriented communication with co-workers and clients
