What is remote healthcare sales?

Remote healthcare sales involves selling medical products, services, or technologies to healthcare providers, organizations, or individuals through virtual means rather than in-person meetings. Professionals in this role use phone calls, video conferencing, emails, and other digital tools to connect with clients, provide product information, and close sales. This approach allows sales representatives to reach a wider geographic area and often provides greater flexibility in their work schedules. Remote healthcare sales requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of healthcare products, and the ability to build relationships virtually.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote healthcare sales professional?

To thrive as a Remote Healthcare Sales professional, you need a solid understanding of healthcare products and services, proven sales experience, and often a bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, virtual communication platforms, and digital sales tools is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to build rapport remotely help you excel in this role. These competencies are crucial for effectively reaching healthcare clients, closing sales, and driving business growth in a virtual environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote healthcare sales, and how can they be overcome?

A common challenge in remote healthcare sales is building trust and relationships with clients without face-to-face interactions. To overcome this, it's essential to leverage video calls, maintain clear and timely communication, and provide valuable educational resources tailored to each client's needs. Additionally, staying organized and effectively managing a remote sales pipeline requires strong self-motivation and familiarity with digital CRM tools. Collaborating closely with internal teams, such as clinical specialists and marketing, also helps ensure you can address client concerns promptly and offer comprehensive solutions.

National Healthcare Sales Director

Anvaya Solutions

Folsom, CA • Remote

Job description

Anvaya Solutions · Remote, US · Cybersecurity / Healthcare

About us

Anvaya Solutions is a woman-owned small business with almost 2 decades delivering cybersecurity and compliance services to government and regulated organizations. We help clients assess, strengthen, and prove their security and compliance posture against the frameworks they're held to - HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST, and more - through services like risk assessments, compliance readiness, penetration testing, and security program support.

We're looking to grow our healthcare presence, and we've already secured the hardest part. Anvaya is joining one of the nation's largest committed-model group purchasing organizations (GPO).

The opportunity

Most healthcare sales roles ask you to spend 12–18 months fighting for contract access before you can close a single deal. We've removed that step.

Our agreement opens a path to a large number of healthcare facilities. The access is in place. Your job is pull-through: turning that access into signed engagements. This is a greenfield vertical with the door already open, and the pipeline is yours to build and own.

If you'd rather own a new pipeline with real wind at your back than inherit a mature, capped one, this is built for you.

What you'll do

  • Own healthcare sales end to end - from target-account strategy to closed revenue
  • Drive pull-through across member systems, selling Anvaya's cybersecurity and compliance services to CISOs, privacy officers, compliance leaders, and risk teams
  • Run the full sales cycle for a consultative services sale: prospecting, discovery, scoping, proposal/SOW, negotiation, and close
  • Build the repeatable healthcare playbook - messaging, ICP, target accounts, sales motion - that we scale the vertical on
  • Represent Anvaya where healthcare security and compliance buyers gather
  • Partner with our delivery and leadership teams to scope engagements accurately and set clients up for success

What you bring

  • 5+ years selling into hospitals and health systems, with a background in IT, cybersecurity, compliance, risk, or related professional services
  • An existing network of healthcare security and compliance buyers you can activate from day one
  • Fluency in the buyer's language: HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST, OCR, risk analysis
  • A track record carrying and beating quota across a national territory
  • Comfort selling scoped services and SOWs, not just product seats
  • Proven ability to build and grow a sales pipeline
  • Comfort in a build-it environment - you're energized, not unsettled, by a blank page

Nice to have

  • Experience selling through a GPO (HealthTrust, Vizient, Premier) or into IDNs
  • HCISPP, CHPS, CHC, CISA, or a comparable credential
  • Familiarity with healthcare assessment work (HIPAA risk analysis, HITRUST readiness, penetration testing, OCR response)

Compensation

Built for a seller who backs themselves:

  • Base plus uncapped commission - at plan, with no ceiling above it
  • Residual commission on the recurring book you build - you're paid on the accounts you grow and keep, not just the first engagement

Logistics

  • Remote, US-based; national travel as required
  • Reports to CEO

Anvaya Solutions, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. All employment decisions, including hiring, promotions, and compensation, are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.  We are committed to a merit-based workplace where every individual is treated with respect and has equal access to opportunities based solely on their qualifications and performance.
