Position Summary

A freight broker serves as amiddleman between companies that need to ship goods and the carriers that transport those goods. Here are some of their main responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Connecting Shippers and Carriers: They find and commission carriers to transport goods for shippers.
  • Negotiating Rates: They negotiate shipping rates and prepare quotes.
  • Tracking Shipments: They monitor the progress of shipments and provide updates to the shippers.
  • Managing Paperwork: They handle necessary shipping documents like the bill of lading.
  • Resolving Issues: They manage and resolve any problems that arise during the transportation process.
