We’re seeking a Project Engineer – Mechanical or Plumbing Design to join our team in either Milwaukee, Mequon, Madison or Appleton. In this role, you’ll lead and support the design and implementation of mechanical and plumbing systems for a wastewater projects. You’ll apply your engineering expertise, mentor junior staff, and contribute to project excellence and client satisfaction.

What you will do:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical and plumbing systems from planning through construction.

  • Perform and review engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents with accountability for quality and accuracy.

  • Manage technical tasks, monitor project scope, schedule, and budget, and coordinate deliverables with internal teams and external partners.

  • Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observations to ensure design intent and compliance.

  • Serve as a client contact, leading meetings and communicating project updates with professionalism and sound judgment.

  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and review of design work.

  • Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Office, CADD, BIM, and modeling platforms to produce design deliverables.


What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 4+ years of post-graduate engineering experience, preferably in mechanical or plumbing design.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin required; multi-state licensure may be beneficial.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CADD, BIM, and relevant modeling or analysis software.

  • Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead project components and coordinate multidisciplinary efforts.

  • Effective mentoring, time management, and organizational skills.

The salary for this position ranges from $79,081 to $126,529 per year commensurate with experience. Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.
