Job description


SAIC has an immediate need for a System Administrator that can troubleshoot and resolve Tier 1-2 operational tickets as part of a 24/7/365 operations located in either location Charleston, SC or New Orleans, LA.
This is a hybrid/remote role; however, the candidate MUST be within 30 miles of either location.
NOTE: this is a 3rd shift position (12:00a-8:00aEST) Tuesday-Saturday (subject to adjust for peer/customer support)
Typical Duties Include:
  • Acknowledge or receive Priority 1 system outages then troubleshoot
  • Troubleshooting system admin related hosting outages and operational tickets
  • Work with application team and other team members to resolve outages
  • Report outages and issues to data center team members, leadership and program teams
  • Perform software updates and patches, as necessary
  • Use of monitoring systems such as SolarWinds and SPLUNK
  • Manage Active Directory, group policy and Account issues
  • Interpret technical information to create and send written notifications and SITREPs on behalf of the Division
  • Review and edit written notifications and SITREPs, before they are sent on behalf of the Division
  • Apply system related cyber updates and STIGs to address vulnerabilities

Qualifications
Required Education:
  • BS degree and two (2) years of related experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree

Required Skills:
  • Working knowledge of AWS Console & AWS Hosting environment
  • Experience with CITRIX Director
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and group policy
  • Working knowledge of ports and their function
  • Working knowledge of monitoring systems such as SolarWinds and SPLUNK
  • Working knowledge in troubleshooting windows server OS and supporting functions across a domain
  • Self-starter with ability to self-direct training
  • Proven ability to grasp and apply new information quickly
  • Strong desire to grow in a face paced environment
  • Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction
  • Ability to be creative, innovative, and responsible, and able to master good decision-making skills
  • Work as an integral part of a team and thrive in collaborative environments
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Professional sense of customer service working through issues and communicating with higher level mission owners

Required Clearance:
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Required Certification:
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II (Security+ CE, CCNA, or GSEC)

Desired Certifications:
  • Windows Server OS 2022
  • AWS Practitioner
