POSITION SUMMARY:
Adhering to System Values, Service Excellence and Standards of Behavior, the Data Support Specialist will assist with the collection, organization, validation, and entry of data from the current Netsmart Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other applicable platforms. This position is designed to support the manual data migration process required for the NCHHHA EMR conversion project.
The individual in this role will work closely with the EMR Conversion Team to ensure patient, clinical, operational, and billing data is accurately transferred and validated while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and data security standards.
This is a temporary project-based position focused on supporting the successful implementation of NCHHHA's new Electronic Medical Record system.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.0

Certification:
  • All employees and contracted staff will have either successful completion of an American Heart Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS), or ACLS and PALS combined. (for clinical staff), Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis.

*Refer to the NCH Life Support Certification Policy for position specific requirements.
Licensure:
  • N/A

Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare documentation and Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to organize, review, and validate large amounts of information.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Work Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in clerical work preferred.
  • Healthcare analytics or EMR-related experience preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Extract, review, organize, and prepare data from Netsmart and other designated systems for migration.
  2. Perform accurate data entry into migration tools, spreadsheets, and designated EMR platforms.
  3. Validate migrated data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  4. Collaborate with members of the EMR Conversion Team, clinical staff, and operational leaders.
  5. Identify and report data discrepancies, missing information, or migration concerns.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards.
  7. Maintain project tracking logs and assigned migration documentation.
  8. Participate in project meetings and training as required.
