Job description

Business Analyst

Houston, TX (Remote till Covid) 6+ months Contract

Key Skills:

  • Tools: Google Analytics. Tableau. SQL experience helpful.
  • Analysis of consumer software metrics around click stream, usage, engagements with product managers & dev teams
  • Must have experience defining metrics that matter - when we add a feature to our software, how do we know how well it is working. Will work with PM, dev team to specify, then analyze results.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a business analyst in a consumer products or technology company.
  • Demonstrable examples of how your data insights uncovered the “why” behind the data and resulted in substantial improvements.
  • Solid understanding of big data analytic solutions and capabilities, such as data lakes and advanced analytics, and deep understanding of traditional BI tools including data profiling.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics as well as BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
  • Experience using SQL and/or Python.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment to achieve a common result
  • Experience defining data to capture to support analysis of effectiveness of new features

Desired qualifications:

  • Background in mathematics, statistics, design of experiments, business administration, survey methodology, finance or similar curriculum
  • Experience with AWS EC2, S3, Redshift, EMR, Jupyter Notebooks
  • Experience in building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • Enthusiasm for new technologies & helping customers
  • Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • Product management and/or Consulting experience
