Job description

An Employee Relations Specialist ensures a positive work environment by managing employee-organization relationships, resolving conflicts, and upholding workplace policies. Their goal is to boost employee satisfaction, improve communication, and support company culture.

This role is primarily remote; however, occasional travel for meetings, investigations, and conferences will be required.

This role involves interacting with employees, managers, and senior executives.

Essential Function & Responsibilities:
  • Investigate employee complaints including misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
  • Coordinate with regional leaders, legal, labor relations, and compliance teams for thorough, timely, and legally sound investigations.
  • Ensure confidentiality, neutrality, and fairness in all processes.
  • Support and document disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Mediate disputes between employees and management.
  • Resolve workplace conflicts to foster a harmonious environment.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, Code of Business Conduct, and Labor laws.
  • Develop training programs for employee relations improvement.
  • Collaborate with HRBP and management to enhance employee relations strategies.
  • Guide on Performance Management implementation and manager coaching.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment and address equity concerns.
  • Facilitate employee engagement during changes.
 Minimum Requirements:
  • Influence and manage conversations with stakeholders effectively.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Handle multiple tasks and commitments efficiently.
  • Communicate complex information clearly in writing and speech.
  • Build relationships and translate statements into objective actions.
  • Solve problems critically and creatively.
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality.
  • Understand labor laws and employee relations best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with high urgency and customer service focus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Candidates must be located within the Western states territory aligned to the position’s area of responsibility.

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Equivalent professional experience in the field will be accepted as a substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in human resources, employee relations, conflict resolution, and mediation.

Pre-Screen:

Employees must pass a drug screen, background check, and/or MVR check upon offer.

Professional Licenses and Certifications:
  • A current driver’s license is mandatory.
Travel Requirements:
  • Must be able to travel according to business needs (15-20%).
Physical Requirements:

Rarely: walking, kneeling, squatting, crawling, distant seeing, climbing on/off truck, climbing, lifting 10-50 lbs., depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.

Occasionally: standing, stooping, body twisting, gripping, reaching, range of motion, climbing stairs.
