Job description

Licensed Mental Health Therapist — Part-Time
Remote · Arizona License Required

We're expanding into Arizona. We're looking for therapists who want to get in early and help shape what we build.

Backpack Healthcare provides mental health care for children, teens, and young adults — all online, covered by most insurance. We're clinician-led and minority-owned, and Arizona is one of our newest markets. That means the clinicians who join now aren't just filling roles — they're helping us establish care in communities that need it.

If you're looking for flexible part-time work with a team that's serious about outcomes and serious about clinician support — this is worth your time.

What this role looks like

You'll carry a caseload of 15–22 sessions per week, providing individual and family therapy via telehealth. Most of our clinicians work weekday afternoons and evenings (2–9 PM), with weekend availability a plus. You build the schedule. We handle the referrals and admin.

Day-to-day you'll:

  • Conduct assessments and build client-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team — therapists, PMHNPs, and psychiatrists working together
  • Maintain timely documentation in our EHR
  • Support families with education and care coordination, not just the child in the room

What we offer

  • $55/billable hour — LCSW, LPC, or LMFT (independently licensed)
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • $150 annual CEU reimbursement
  • Free supervision for eligible licenses
  • $25,000 company-paid life insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Pathways into clinical leadership as the Arizona program grows

What we're looking for

  • Active Arizona license: LPC, LMFT or LCSW
  • Experience with children, teens, and families (or a strong interest in this population)
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish — strongly preferred
  • Committed to trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice

Who we are

We've served 12,000+ kids and families since 2020. 78% of families report their child is doing better after three months. Arizona is new territory for us, and we're building it intentionally — with clinicians who want to grow into supervision and leadership as we scale.

When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not a tagline. It's how we build.

Backpack Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity in age, background, identity, and experience — and we mean it.
