About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a strategic and highly skilled Proposal Solutions Manager - Ellucian Student (Powered by Ellucian Banner) to join our Global Proposals team. In this role, you'll become a trusted functional expert across Ellucian's integrated Student, ERP, CRM, and platform ecosystem, helping colleges and universities envision how our solutions transform the student experience and institutional success.
As the bridge between Product, Sales, Solutions Consulting, Services, Cloud, and Sales Enablement, you'll translate complex business challenges into compelling solution narratives that demonstrate the value of Ellucian's technology. Your expertise will help shape winning proposals, strengthen our content strategy, and ensure our customer-facing messaging reflects the latest product innovations and market needs.
As an individual contributor within the Sales Operations & Strategy organization, you'll play a critical role in driving revenue growth by creating and evolving strategic solution content that empowers sales teams, supports partner opportunities, and differentiates Ellucian in competitive pursuits. Where You Will Make an Impact
  • Serve as the functional expert for Ellucian Student Signature and Essentials solutions, developing compelling, accurate, and strategically positioned solution content.
  • Translate complex institutional requirements into clear, customer-focused narratives that showcase the value of Ellucian's integrated platform.
  • Analyze RFx documents, questionnaires, and customer requirements to assess solution fit and identify opportunities, risks, and differentiators.
  • Partner closely with Product Management to ensure proposal content reflects current capabilities, roadmap direction, and new product innovations.
  • Collaborate across Sales, Solutions Consulting, Services, Cloud, Compliance, and Marketing to create consistent, high-quality messaging that supports strategic pursuits.
  • Continuously enhance and modernize the proposal content library by leveraging AI, product updates, competitive insights, and customer feedback.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, compelling, and tailored to each institution's unique needs.
  • Identify trends across customer requests and competitive pursuits, recommending improvements to content, processes, and messaging that increase win rates.
  • Participate in proposal retrospectives and contribute ideas that improve efficiency, content quality, and the overall customer response experience.

What You Will Bring
  • 4-6+ years of experience with systems-supported higher education administration in a practitioner, implementation, consulting, or solutions-focused role.
  • Strong understanding of Ellucian Banner Student Information Systems (SIS), SaaS/cloud delivery architecture, including how student-facing systems integrate with finance, HR, identity management, learning management systems (LMS), and other campus technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of higher education business processes across the student lifecycle, including recruitment, admissions, registration, records, advising, degree planning, curriculum management, scholarship management, student accounts, student success, retention, graduation, and alumni transition.
  • Experience with higher education administrative functions, including enrollment management, academic affairs, registrar operations, student affairs, compliance, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with higher education regulations and standards, including FERPA and data governance best practices.
  • Strong prompt engineering skills and proficiency with AI and productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Box AI, Ombud (or similar proposal automation platforms), and other generative AI technologies.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, organize complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives, and ask thoughtful questions to clarify requirements.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with financial aid business processes and regulations, including Title IV financial aid administration and processing.
  • Experience developing solution narratives, RFP/RFI responses, business cases, executive summaries, and other customer-facing proposal documentation.
  • Experience responding to complex RFx requirements or supporting proposal development in a software, technology, or higher education environment
