Job Description
Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Director of Operations. The Director of Operations oversees day-to-day operations of janitorial services for a specific business division. This senior level position is responsible for the development and implementation of a variety of strategies to maximize profits, while maintaining a high level of service quality within their division. Through continual evaluation and improvement, the Director of Operations positively impacts key performance indicators such as operational cost, service quality, and team development. This position provides oversight and leadership to team members and follows up on staff assignments.
  • Janitorial / Commercial Cleaning Leader (5+ Years) - Proven management experience in the janitorial industry with the ability to lead multi-site operations, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-changing environment.
  • P&L + KPI Ownership Mindset - Confident managing budgets and performance metrics, solving operational challenges, and driving outcomes in cost control, service quality, and account performance.
  • Client-Focused People Builder - Strong English communication and customer service skills, skilled in coaching managers, resolving conflict, and building accountable, high-performing teams (bilingual and/or business degree a plus).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and manage the day to day operation through a team of top performers
  • Manages the P&L for their operations
  • Hold executive responsibility for all vertical operations, employee management, finances, and people related functions, sales growth, startups, account management, legal, and other operating elements of the business.
  • Responsible for client relations and retention
  • Manage and build performance teams, providing coaching, development and mentoring to a team of managers
  • Develop and hold the team accountable to managing key performance indicators
  • Stay current in business vertical and identify opportunities for company growth opportunities
  • Provide timely feedback and guidance for team members on operational issues and concerns

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in janitorial industry
  • Business level oral and written communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent customer service skills; active listening skills
  • Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; ability to negotiate and resolve conflict
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Able to think independently
  • Ability to analyze and deliver effective solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills to include astute prioritization skills
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft and Google products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business management
  • Bilingual; ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish, French, or other languages
  • Prior cleaning or janitorial experience
  • Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing
  • Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance
