Job description

Interstates is seeking a strategic leader to define and scale our Manufactured Solutions capability. This role will shape how offsite manufacturing-including panels, prefabrication, modular assemblies, and skid-based systems-drives value for our clients and supports the next phase of Interstates' growth.

As Director of Manufactured Solutions, you will own the strategy, portfolio direction, and market approach for this growing capability. You will identify where manufactured solutions can transform how industrial projects are delivered-improving safety, schedule certainty, cost efficiency, and scalability.

This is a highly collaborative, enterprise-level role focused on product strategy, portfolio leadership, and market development. While manufacturing operations leaders are responsible for execution and delivery, this position focuses on defining the solutions, identifying market opportunities, and aligning manufactured solutions with Interstates' construction and engineering services.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction for Manufactured Solutions
Define and evolve the strategic vision for Interstates' manufactured solutions portfolio.
Identify where offsite manufacturing can transform project delivery and construction productivity.
Align portfolio priorities with enterprise growth strategies and emerging client needs.
Advocate for manufactured solutions as a strategic capability across the organization.

Product & Portfolio Leadership
Lead development and management of the manufactured solutions portfolio across panels, prefabrication, modular, and skid-based offerings.
Define product positioning, target markets, and value propositions.
Guide innovation and product development priorities.
Ensure each offering has a clearly defined customer, use case, and path to market.
Maintain a clear roadmap for evolving and expanding the portfolio.

Go to Market Strategy
Develop strategies to expand market adoption of manufactured solutions.
Identify priority industries, client segments, and strategic partnerships.
Support direct-to-client opportunities, including OEM relationships.
Define how solutions are positioned within Interstates project delivery models.

Business Model Development
Define how manufactured solutions are delivered through both standalone offerings and integrated project delivery.
Partner with construction, controls, and manufacturing leaders to align solutions with project execution.
Ensure manufactured solutions enhance overall project delivery and client value.

Market & Client Insights
Monitor market trends, client challenges, and emerging opportunities within manufacturing and construction.
Translate insights into product strategies and new solution opportunities.
Ensure offerings improve safety, schedule reliability, cost certainty, scalability, and quality.

Financial & Growth Leadership
Establish growth targets and performance metrics for the manufactured solutions portfolio.
Evaluate investment opportunities and product development initiatives.
Assess ROI on capital investments and new offerings.
Drive profitable and sustainable growth of the portfolio.

Enterprise Collaboration
Collaborate closely with manufacturing operations, construction services, engineering, and sales teams.
Influence leaders across the organization to expand the use of manufactured solutions.
Ensure solutions support and strengthen Interstates' core construction services.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, construction, product management, or a related industry.
Demonstrated experience managing a product portfolio or leading strategy for a defined offer category.
Strong understanding of manufacturing, construction, or industrial project delivery environments.
Experience developing product strategies, market expansion initiatives, or new solution offerings.
Strong financial and business acumen, including evaluating investments and growth opportunities.
Proven ability to lead through influence and collaborate across multiple business units.
Experience working in organizations with multiple offers, markets, or sales channels is highly valued.

Location: This role can be based out of any of these office locations in Sioux Center IA, Omaha NE, or Sioux Falls SD offices.

Travel: Travel is expected to be 25% between our various Manufacturing locations.

Why This Role Matters
Manufactured solutions represent a critical opportunity to improve how industrial projects are delivered-reducing field labor constraints, improving safety and quality, and enabling more predictable outcomes for clients. This role will help define how Interstates scales this capability and positions it as a strategic advantage in the markets we serve.
