Director, Dental Manufacturing Operations

About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Dental Manufacturing Operations, to lead manufacturing operations for our dental product portfolio, including rotary instruments, rasps, strips, and related products. This leadership position is responsible for driving operational excellence across precision machining, electroplating, heat treatment, and furnace brazing processes while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing leadership background, experience in regulated industries, and a passion for continuous improvement, team development, and operational performance.

What You'll Do

Manufacturing & Operational Leadership

  • Lead all manufacturing operations for dental rotary instruments, rasps, strips, and associated product lines.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that support safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and profitability goals.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure manufacturing capacity, scheduling, staffing, and processes effectively support customer demand and business growth.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Mentor and develop operations and manufacturing teams.

Production Management

  • Provide leadership and direction to production responsible for daily manufacturing activities.
  • Improve throughput, equipment utilization, labor efficiency, and production cycle times.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering, and Quality teams to optimize manufacturing flow and inventory management.

Financial & Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and manage manufacturing budgets and capital expenditure plans.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve margins, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Support annual business planning and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate, justify, and implement capital investments that enhance manufacturing performance and scalability.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 8+ years of progressive manufacturing and operations leadership experience.
  • 2+ years of senior-level operations leadership experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading production operations, operational excellence initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience within medical devices, dental, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and organizational development capabilities.
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs, and capital investments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and manufacturing performance metrics.
