Demand Planning Lead, Store Development Assortment
Role Description
Location: Seattle, Washington preferred but open to remote
Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000
Role Summary
As a demand planning lead for GCG and its portfolio companies, this role owns the end-to-end assortment planning process across the store development portfolio and partners with our internal and customer-based design teams to shape demand planning processes. This position is designed to align cross-functional stakeholders on priorities, risks, product lifecycle transitions, and inventory outcomes while improving planning capabilities and decision-making across the business.
The role includes traveling to customer locations to support on-site project success. As a member of the GCG team, the Demand Planning Lead is responsible for exemplifying the company's guiding principles and fostering our company culture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and evolve processes to shape demand in partnership with Concepts and Design teams.
  • Own the end-to-end assortment planning process across the store development portfolio.
  • Lead monthly assortment reviews, aligning cross-functional stakeholders on priorities and risks.
  • Manage product end-of-life transitions to minimize write-off and optimize inventory outcomes.
  • Develop and lead ramp-down strategy plans with other planning partners.
  • Drive product lifecycle management, overseeing item transitions from introduction through exit to optimize performance and minimize financial risk.
  • Deliver proposed order analytics that inform forecasting, sourcing, and inventory decisions.
  • Develop consumption tools and scalable communication processes to enable visibility and inventory depletion across stakeholders and design markets.
  • Partner with Finance, Coffeehouse Integration, and Supply Chain to drive alignment and improve decision-making.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen planning capabilities and outcomes.
  • Travel to customer site to ensure project is progressing as expected

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience with demand planning, inventory management, and forecasting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Experience implementing planning processes.
  • Strong analytical curiosity with the ability to dive into data and turn insights into business decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence a broad range of audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Assortment management experience.
Preferred Profile
The strongest candidates will combine supply chain planning depth with strong cross-functional communication and process design capability, which aligns with how Starbucks frames planning leadership roles in Supply Chain. A Seattle-based candidate is preferred for close partnership with internal stakeholders and team collaboration, but a remote role is acceptable for the right candidate.
