Fully Remote

Duration: 12-Month Contract
The Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) is seeking a Creative Content Development Copywriter to support high-impact statewide initiatives focused on implementing high-quality instructional materials aligned to updated science standards.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to large-scale K-12 education content development while shaping engaging, accessible, and state-approved materials.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development of a cohesive, state-approved design and content framework for K-2 supplemental science units
  • Enhance and refine existing curriculum materials to ensure clarity, usability, and engagement
  • Collaborate on the development of additional instructional units for future release
  • Ensure all deliverables align with TDOE branding, style, and instructional vision
  • Support accessibility compliance across materials in accordance with state and federal ADA standards
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
Required Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Background in copywriting, branding, digital marketing, or graphic design
  • Familiarity with InDesign and Canva
  • Working knowledge of ADA accessibility compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing K-12 educational or science-related content
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for design consistency and user experience
