Purpose:

The Associate Director Business Process Optimization (BPO) Lead will be responsible for the strategy, oversight, health and performance of processes in collaboration with Process Owners and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The BPO Leads will also drive, participate or support key complex or strategically meaningful process improvement efforts. This role will be accountable for developing and maintaining metrics for key processes and responsible for presenting these to appropriate Global Development (GD) partners.

You will be responsible for:
  • Drive end to end optimization and continuous improvement of existing processes to deliver on key strategic improvement projects.
  • Develop and lead all aspects of process strategy, inclusive of continuous improvement, process health and optimization.
  • Establish positive relationships with Process Owners, BPO Lead peers, and key business partners across Global Development (GD).
  • Effectively communicate with sponsors, leadership and business partners on process status and opportunities.
  • Develop, baseline , and monitor appropriate metrics to improve process performance.
  • Support Process Owners as needed in timely and effective response to process gaps and inspection/audit findings, as well as self-identified issues.
  • Support risk identification within the assigned value stream of processes and develop and implement appropriate actions.
  • Establish and collaborate on process analysis and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive business experience is required.
  • Experience in Clinical Operations/Quality Operations with exposure to clinical development teams/processes is required.
  • Exposure to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Training, Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs), Process Improvement, and Metrics is required.
  • Knowledge of clinical research processes and applicable regulatory requirements is required.
  • Project and portfolio management experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizational levels and influence decision-making within a global environment is required.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques or Green Belt certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio is preferred.
  • Experience with SharePoint is preferred.
  • This position will require up to 20% domestic and international travel.

$137,000.00 - $235,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
