In your role as a Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities tailored to their unique needs.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients’ mental health issues, treatment goals, and progress.
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and support staff, to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and therapy notes in compliance with state regulations and clinic policies.
• Engage in continual professional development through participation in staff meetings, training sessions, and community outreach initiatives.

Your clients will primarily consist of individuals dealing with mood disorders, anxiety, and other common mental health challenges. At our clinic, we serve a wide range of demographics, addressing cultural and socioeconomic factors that influence mental health. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including youth, adults, and families, facilitating meaningful therapeutic relationships that resonate with their individual experiences.

To successfully fill this role, you will need the following:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches, particularly for clients dealing with mood disorders, including CBT and DBT.
• A strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and the capacity to work collaboratively with medical professionals to optimize client care.
• Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

While not mandatory, candidates with the following backgrounds will be favored:

• Previous experience in a community health clinic or similar setting.
• A track record of successfully treating mood disorders and facilitating positive client outcomes.
• Experience with telehealth tools to conduct effective remote therapy sessions.
