Commercial Construction Accountant - Up to $85,000 + Bonus - 100% Remote - Work/Life Balance - Permanent Direct Hire

My client, a booming commercial construction company for close to 40 years with projects across six states, is adding a Commercial Construction Accountant due to growth. This is a 100% remote role. The salary goes up to $85,000 with bonus. Great benefits including 5% 401k match and awesome PTO. Permanent direct hire.

Responsibilities of the Commercial Construction Accountant:

  • The Commercial Construction Accountant will report to the CFO and prepare and post journal entries while supporting the month-end close process including reconciliations and WIP.
  • Manage monthly customer billing by generating invoices, validating schedules of values, collaborating with project managers on billing requirements, and monitoring project revenue, budgets, and contract balances.
  • Review and distribute accounts payable reports, ensure proper coding of corporate card transactions and employee expenses, and assist with collections efforts by following up on outstanding customer receivables.
  • Support payroll processing by reviewing timecards, mileage, per diem, and reimbursement data, and recording payroll-related journal entries.
  • Administer sales tax filings, year-end 1099 reporting, insurance and compliance documentation, and support intercompany transactions.

Preferred Qualifications for the Commercial Construction Accountant:

  • Must have commercial construction accounting experience and be ok with manual processes
  • Must have advanced Excel experience including formulas, VLOOKUPS, and pivot tables.
