This flexible approach allows clients to receive expert coaching from anywhere in the world.

Job description

We're Sharp Performance
Sharp Performance is transforming wellness for those in high-demand professions, starting with public safety.
Our mission is to extend the service-life and health span of those who run toward danger: law enforcement, firefighters, and other frontline professionals. Through our mobile platform, we connect them with elite performance coaches trained in performance methods adapted from the U.S. Special Operations community.
This is not a lifestyle brand. This is not "tech for tech's sake." This is applied resilience, delivered where it matters most.
We're backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and investors behind Uber, Airbnb, PayPal, and Palantir. Partnerships are forming weekly. The mission is expanding quickly.
We are early. We are building. And success is not guaranteed. If that excites you more than it scares you, then let's go.
The Opportunity
Sharp Performance is looking for a Performance Coach to work directly with law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other frontline professionals; people who face life-or-death stress as a baseline. This is not a general wellness role. You'll deliver structured, one-on-one coaching grounded in performance methods adapted from the U.S. Special Operations community, helping members build the mental resilience to perform at their best in and out of the field.
This is an independent contractor (1099) engagement with a flexible, fully remote schedule.
How you'll make an impact
  • Help frontline professionals feel calmer under pressure, recover faster from high-stress incidents, and show up fully for their teams and families. The members who work with you perform better because of you.
  • Deliver one-on-one coaching sessions grounded in evidence-based performance methodology, building customized plans that meet each member where they are.
  • Document session insights and track member progress, ensuring continuity of care and enabling the coaching team to improve its impact over time.
  • Bring your firsthand coaching insights into team conversations, helping Sharp refine its methodology and ensure what we deliver in the field actually works.
  • Build authentic, trust-based relationships with first responders who are often skeptical of traditional mental health support - and help them experience the difference.

The skillset you'll need to succeed
  • Proven coaching expertise, with demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality performance coaching aligned with industry best practices.
  • Strong communication and trust-building skills: the ability to connect with first responders, earn their trust quickly, and create an environment where real work happens.
  • Tech-savvy: comfortable using Slack, Calendly, and Google Suite to manage your workflow independently.
  • Adaptability: you can read a member, adjust your approach in real time, and tailor your coaching to the realities of their role, not a generic template.
  • Commitment to continuous learning: you stay current on performance research, and you bring that growth back to your clients.
  • Preferred: ICF certification (ACC, PCC, or MCC), background in sports or performance psychology, military or first responder experience, or prior work with high-stress professional populations.

Why you'll love working here
  • Fully remote and flexible: you set your availability and own your schedule.
  • Access to Sharp's performance coaching platform: the same tools your members use, available to support your own development.
  • Ongoing professional development: coaching supervision, team learning sessions, and access to cutting-edge performance research to keep you at the top of your field.
  • Mission that matters: the people you coach run toward danger for a living. Your work directly extends their service life, protects their mental health, and helps them be better for the people who depend on them.

If you're passionate about helping high-risk professionals perform at their peak, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to join Sharp Performance as a coach.
The pay range for this role is:
25 - 80 USD per hour (Remote)
