What Youโll Get to Do
Echo Power has an opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineering Manger to support substation design projects. In this role, you will manage Echoโs civil and structural engineering efforts for high-voltage substations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept through construction. This is a hybrid role with remote work and ๏ฌeld/site visits as needed (up to 20% travel).
Key responsibilities include:
โข Manage personnel in the civil/structural engineering group
โข Manage process, procedures, personnel development for the civil/structural engineering group
โข Lead planning, design, and execution of substation projects
โข Develop civil/structural designs including site development, foundations, and structural steel
โข Prepare plans, sections, details, and bills of material
โข Perform engineering calculations and develop technical speci๏ฌcations
โข Coordinate with electrical, civil, structural teams, and project managers
โข Conduct design reviews and perform quality checks on team deliverables
โข Support project schedules, budgets, and overall execution
โข Perform site visits, walkdowns, and construction support activities
What You Bring
โข Strong experience in civil/structural design for substations or heavy industrial projects
โข Knowledge of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation design
โข Understanding of surveying techniques (LiDAR, photogrammetry, GPS)
โข Familiarity with codes, standards, and construction practices
โข Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
โข Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
โข Strong communication and leadership skills
โข Ability to travel up to 20%
Technical Tools:
AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA, STAAD (or equivalent), Bluebeam, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Project/Primavera (CMiC a plus)
Education amp; Experience Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited)
- 15+ years of relevant experience in utilities, power generation, or industrial environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required
Job Location
Remote-first role with field travel as needed. Candidates should live within one hour of a commercial airport.
Pay amp; Benefits
- $143,586-$191,042 annual salary
- Annual bonus potential up to 50% of base salary
