Join Us

ADVI is seeking a Director of Business Development to join ADVI's growing Life Sciences business. As a key member of ADVI's Business Development team, you will be responsible for managing and growing the firm's business relationships with ADVI's top pharmaceutical, biotech, and precision medicine manufacturer customers. The Director will work with other Business Development team members on individual accounts, partner with Solution Teams in the Consulting practice and partner with Finance and Operations to support our clients. In addition to account management responsibilities, this person will develop fluency in leading healthcare and life science business and policy issues important to ADVI clients and relevant to ADVI's solutions. The position will be reporting to the Chief Growth Officer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary relationship manager/business development liaison with multiple high-priority pharma/biotech and diagnostic clients/accounts
  • Leads account planning by identifying key growth opportunities for ADVI and ideal client relationship structure
  • Collaborates on creation of business development and sales plans, across ADVI products and solutions, and executes to meet sales objectives
  • Generates new leads within existing accounts and partners with Business Development and Solution Teams to identify and execute on lead generation campaign opportunities
  • Research accounts, identify key contacts, connect with prospects, and generate interest through timely, regular outreach to develop long-term relationships
  • Drafts Business Development collateral (e.g., outreach emails, pitch decks, etc.)
  • Organizes pursuit / pitch teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
  • Ensures CRM systems such as HubSpot/Salesforce.com are kept up to date
  • Represents ADVI and builds relationships with clients and prospective clients at venues selected to increase ADVI market visibility (e.g. professional conferences)
  • Works closely with the Chief Growth Officer and Head of Marketing on sales and marketing tactics and strategies.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with top decision makers at key clients that facilitates buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client.
  • Proactively anticipates client needs based on market activity and proposes solutions to meet those needs
  • Contributes to firm visibility and marketing campaigns to support sales goals
  • Conducts market intelligence to understand key competitors
  • Sets quarterly and annual account goals/metrics to assess progress and deliver on sales objectives

  • College degree. Advanced degree preferred; advanced degree may be substituted with work experience
  • 5+ years of full cycle sales experience to include new business development, growing business with established clients and account management.
  • Must have professional background in market access, reimbursement and/or healthcare policy.
  • Must have experience selling consulting/professional services. 
  • Ability to use sales analytics and marketing data to identify patterns and contribute to account planning and follow-up.
  • Action-oriented, forward-looking, and strategic with a strong sense of urgency and initiative to get things done by influencing others and building relationships in a team-oriented and collaborative atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of healthcare issues, life sciences, diagnostics, and the health policy ecosystem.
  • Experience supporting accounts and internal stakeholders in a hands-on, high-touch environment.

Location

Candidates can be based anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for those operating in the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zone. Candidates based in Washington, DC or Austin, TX, will have the option of hybrid work arrangements.


Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $150,000-$180,000 annual base salary plus sales incentive plan. Exceptionally qualified candidates will be evaluated according to experience levels.
