VisionPoint Marketing is on a mission to become higher education's most trusted enrollment marketing partner. As a full-service agency, we collaborate with colleges and universities nationwide to strengthen brands, accelerate marketing performance, and drive measurable enrollment growth. Our award-winning work is showcased on national conference stages, but our greatest pride is making life easier-and more successful-for our client partners. Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, we operate as a remote-first company with VisionPointers across every U.S. time zone, while offering hybrid and in-person options for those near our headquarters.
The Role
We are looking for a Marketing Technology Specialist to build the technical solutions that power digital marketing across our client portfolio.
This role sits at the intersection of development, analytics, paid media, and marketing operations. You'll solve technical marketing challenges by building lightweight applications, connecting platforms through APIs, implementing advanced measurement and analytics solutions, and creating automation that helps our teams work smarter. If you enjoy making systems work better together, solving complex implementation problems, and building practical tools that have real business impact, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Build Marketing Technology Solutions
  • Custom Tool Development: Design, build, and maintain lightweight applications and utilities using JavaScript, Node.js, and AWS that improve agency operations and client marketing performance.
  • Workflow Automation: Create reusable automation, reporting and analysis tools, and operational solutions that reduce manual effort and improve efficiency across teams.
  • Solution Architecture: Evaluate technical challenges and determine the right solution-whether that's a cloud application, API integration, Google Sheets workflow, reporting dashboard, or automation platform.
Integrations & Technical Implementation
  • Marketing Platform Integrations: Build and maintain integrations between websites, advertising platforms, analytics tools, reporting systems, and CRM environments using REST APIs, webhooks, SFTP, and other data exchange methods.
  • Client Implementation Support: Collaborate with client marketing, analytics, and engineering teams to define integration requirements, coordinate technical implementation, validate data flows, and resolve deployment issues.
  • Advanced Measurement: Implement server-side tracking solutions, conversion APIs, and custom event collection to support reliable attribution and marketing measurement.
  • Platform Extensions: Extend marketing platforms with custom JavaScript, Node.js services, and lightweight cloud applications that go beyond standard platform capabilities.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex tracking, attribution, integration, and data flow issues across interconnected marketing systems.
Measurement & Reporting
  • Tracking Validation: Partner with the Analytics team to ensure tracking implementations are accurate, complete, and producing reliable marketing data.
  • Reporting Solutions: Build dashboards and reporting experiences using platforms like Looker Studio, Google Sheets, TapClicks, or similar tools that help internal teams and clients understand marketing performance.
  • Data Transformation: Connect, clean, and organize marketing data from multiple platforms to create scalable reporting and decision-making tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Technical Partner: Serve as the primary technical resource for the Paid Media team while partnering closely with Analytics, Strategy, CRM, and Web teams.
  • Client Technical Consulting: Partner directly with clients to understand business and technical requirements, explain complex implementation concepts, guide technical decision-making, and coordinate successful integrations across client and agency teams.
  • Implementation Consulting: Translate campaign objectives and business requirements into scalable technical solutions and advise internal teams on implementation approaches and technical feasibility.
  • Continuous Innovation: Stay current on emerging marketing technologies, server-side measurement, AI-assisted development, and new integration opportunities that improve agency capabilities.
Who You Are
Must-Have Technical Skills
  • Marketing Measurement: Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and modern server-side tracking technologies such as Meta Conversions API, Google Enhanced Conversions, LinkedIn Conversions API, or similar solutions.
  • Application Development: Experience building technical solutions using JavaScript and Node.js, including deploying or supporting cloud-hosted applications (AWS preferred).
  • Systems Integration: Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, SFTP, and other integration methods used to connect marketing platforms and business systems.
  • Reporting & Automation: Experience building workflow automation, reporting solutions, or operational tools using Google Sheets, Looker Studio, TapClicks, Zapier, or similar platforms.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex data flows, translate business requirements into practical technical solutions, and navigate interconnected marketing systems.

Background & Experience
  • Agency Experience (preferred): Comfortable supporting multiple clients with varying marketing technology stacks and implementation requirements.
  • CRM Integration Experience: Familiarity with marketing data integrations involving CRM platforms and lead management workflows.
  • Modern Development Practices: Experience using Git/GitHub and AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development while applying sound engineering judgment.
  • Privacy Awareness: Familiarity with consent management platforms and privacy-conscious marketing implementations.
Our Tech Stack
  • Marketing Measurement: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Server-Side Tracking, Meta Conversions API, Google Enhanced Conversions
  • Development: JavaScript, Node.js, AWS
  • Integrations: REST APIs, Webhooks, SFTP
