Job Description

The I&C Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting complex projects within a multidisciplinary project team. Tasks include determining scope, specifying equipment, designing control systems, selecting instruments, PLC/HMI programming, and/or checkout and configuration of controls for a project.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering specifications, P&IDs, Network Diagrams, Panel/Motor Control Circuits, and Lighting Schedules.
  • Design and price controls based on project requirements and select appropriate instruments.
  • Coordinate submittals, including Control Panel Electrical Design, Loop Diagrams, Bill of Materials, and Instrument EDS sheets.
  • Design, modify, and implement PLC, HMI, and OIT applications.
  • Coordinate site activities between PLC implementation and SCADA.
  • Perform start-up services, troubleshoot electrical and programming issues, and provide local or remote technical support to plant personnel
Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Equivalent Electrical Applied Sciences Disciplines or greater with a minimum of 2 years experience or adequate academic resume.
  • Competency with drafting software to design and modify documents (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot, interpret, and modify PLC and HMI systems (Allen Bradley preferred; Modicon/Siemens a plus).
  • Proficiency with VFD hardware and software parameters (Schneider Electric and Allen Bradley preferred; ABB/Danfoss a plus).
  • Strong understanding of standard Ethernet networks, VPNs, and remote access.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols like Modbus, Profibus, and DeviceNet is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation, controls, and field wiring, as well as interpret installation manuals
  • Strong customer relations communication skills
  • Ability to effectively report project status.
  • Travel: Approximately 30-40% travel is required
