Job description

We are seeking a bold and strategic VP of Brand and Market Strategy to define how the market understands SOCi... and the category we are creating.

This is a mission-critical leadership role. You are not just building a brand... you are shaping the narrative for an entirely new category at the intersection of AI, local search, and multi-location marketing. You will define our market positioning, elevate our voice, and ensure everything from executive storytelling to product messaging ladders into a single, powerful story.

This is a brand-led role (60%) with executive oversight of Product Marketing (40%). You will own how SOCi shows up across every touchpoint... from our category narrative and thought leadership to our content strategy and communications engine... while ensuring our product marketing function translates that narrative into clear, differentiated, and revenue-driving go-to-market execution.

SOCi expects to pay a base salary in the range of $190,000 - $250,000 USD base plus bonuses/commission. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Who We Are

SOCi is redefining how multi-location enterprises achieve local and AI search visibility with the world's first agentic workforce. Built specifically for distributed brands, SOCi's Genius Agents act as a digital workforce, autonomously executing and optimizing marketing across search, social, reviews, and local discovery- ensuring every location is visible, discoverable, and growing in today's geo-driven landscape. Trusted by leading brands like Ford, Ace Hardware, and Liberty Tax, and recognized by Fast Company as one of the World's Most Innovative Companies, SOCi transforms marketing from software you manage into work that gets done - intelligently, consistently, and at scale.
How You'll Make an Impact

  • Market Narrative & Category Leadership
    • Define and evolve SOCi's category narrative, positioning, and messaging architecture
    • Establish a clear, differentiated point of view that answers: why change, why now, why SOCi
    • Ensure consistency of narrative across brand, product, sales, and executive communications
    • Shape how analysts, media, customers, and the market understand SOCi
  • Brand Strategy & Experience
    • Own SOCi's brand strategy, identity, and voice across all digital and offline touchpoints
    • Ensure a consistent and high-quality brand experience across digital channels, campaigns, events, and customer interactions
    • Lead and scale a high-performing brand and creative organization
  • Authority, Content & Earned Channel Strategy
    • Own SOCi's earned and owned media strategy to build market authority and executive visibility
    • Define the role of key channels including LinkedIn, YouTube, blog/editorial, PR, and industry publications
    • Build and scale an always-on content engine that reinforces SOCi's narrative and engages enterprise buyers
    • Oversee development of thought leadership programs, including proprietary research, data insights, and executive POVs
    • Partner with executive leadership to amplify SOCi's voice across social platforms, speaking engagements, and media
  • Communications & Executive Visibility
    • Lead SOCi's communications strategy, including media relations, analyst engagement, and corporate messaging
    • Elevate executive presence through keynotes, bylines, interviews, and industry influence
    • Ensure SOCi maintains a strong and differentiated voice in the market
  • Product Marketing Leadership (Executive Oversight)
    • Lead and mentor the Product Marketing function, including a Sr. Director and team
    • Ensure product messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies align with the broader market narrative
    • Provide strategic oversight across:
      • Messaging frameworks
      • Product launches and company readiness
      • Sales enablement and competitive positioning
    • Step in for tier-one launches, strategic deals, and executive-level product storytelling
    • Act as a senior product evangelist internally and externally when needed
  • Go-to-Market Narrative & Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Partner with Product, Sales, Demand Generation, and Customer Success to ensure alignment across the full customer journey
    • Drive consistency between brand narrative, product messaging, and revenue strategy
    • Influence executive decision-making through market insights, customer understanding, and competitive intelligence
  • Brand & Narrative Operating Model
    • Build a modern brand and communications operating system with clear KPIs tied to awareness, perception, and pipeline impact
    • Establish measurement frameworks that connect brand investment to business outcomes
    • Own budget, planning, and performance reporting across brand, communications, and product marketing teams

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Remote Opportunity: Ability to work 100% remotely
  • Must Have:
    • 7+ years of B2B Product Marketing experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
    • Demonstrated success in past Head of Marketing roles (bonus if you've led Product Marketing teams) - building, leading and mentoring high-performing teams as well as growing revenue
    • Demonstrated success in navigating and influencing challenging dynamics at the executive level, including managing strong personalities and engaging in direct, candid conversations while maintaining professionalism and focus on outcomes
    • In depth, hands-on experience with all core product / solution marketing functions - positioning, pricing, packaging, GTM planning, sales enablement, marketing research, competitive intel and product launch
    • Demonstrated creative thinking with ability to develop new programs that generate awareness and intent, enable sales and excite customers
    • Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on and juggle multiple initiatives with confidence and grace
    • Excellent written and verbal skills, especially in the ability to distill the complex into simple, compelling messages that resonate
    • You are highly collaborative, have strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to develop positive and productive working relationships across our organization
    • Your executive team trusts you because you use data to make better decisions and drive results; you are not afraid to experiment and fail because you use it to learn and drive improvement
    • Willing to adapt to changes in the job description as deemed necessary by the business and accept all other duties as assigned
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field

This position will remain open for 30 days from the date of this posting. This position is being hired on an urgent basis. The application window may close before the above mentioned window if SOCi receives a sufficient number of applications to select a candidate prior to that date.
