SSG Rigging and Technical Subject Matter Expert

OVERVIEW:

  • The Security Solutions Group (SSG) Rigging and Technical Expert serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Aviation Security (AVSEC) equipment and associated movement activities. This role provides technical oversight, detailed planning, and on-site supervision of rigging and lifting operations at airports and secure facilities. This role is responsible for developing and approving rigging and lift plans, identifying and managing rigging related risks, supervising critical lift activities, and evaluating rigging subcontractor qualifications and performance. This role ensures that all AVSEC rigging operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable regulations, contractual requirements, and project standards

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the technical SME for all SSG AVSEC equipment, providing authoritative rigging, lift planning, and load-control expertise to leadership, project managers, and field teams
  • Manage K2 warehouse operations, inventory control, and jobsite box delivery ensuring accurate inventory tracking, proper storage, material traceability, and equipment availability
  • Develop Project Rigging Plans in coordination with project management, site stakeholders, rigging vendors, and control changes to rigging plans and field conditions through impact evaluation and mitigation of deviations
  • Coordinate and conduct rigging path site-walks to identify constraints, access routes, obstructions, load limits, and safety considerations, as needed for complexity
  • Maintain and update the Risk Assessment Log for rigging and equipment-related activities to identify hazards, evaluate impacts, and support risk-based decision-making
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager to ensure SSSP equipment movement and rigging requirements are communicated, implemented, and enforced in field operations
  • Oversee rigging vendor qualification and approval, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and applicable union, PLA, and prevailing wage requirements
  • Escalate subcontractor nonconformities and field deviations promptly and support corrective actions via documented follow-up
  • Provide on-site supervision at the start of rigging activities to verify rigging plan execution, safety controls, and compliance based on jobsite complexity. Coordinate with on-site union representatives to support compliant execution, address day-to-day issues, and assist with conflict de-escalation; escalate labor-relations matters per established protocol
  • Ensure lift plans, permits, and safety briefings are completed and verified before work begins.
