Essential Functions (may include):
Aviation Security Guards may be asked to perform many essential functions at the airport where they work, although not an exhaustive list, these are a few of them:
  • Prevent access to restricted areas of airport both inside and outside of the terminal, only allowing access to authorized individuals
  • Conduct screening of employees, vendors, visitors and belongings utilizing x-ray machines, hand held wands, and/or magnetometers
  • Conduct vehicle inspections/searches at perimeter access points to the Airport's secured areas
  • Monitor vehicles to ensure they have airfield permits; issue temporary vehicle permits as appropriate
  • Will drive in your personal vehicle to rotate among five different posts at the airport
  • Conduct random employee/vendor screening and visual inspection of belongings
  • Perform access control duties at employee checkpoints
  • Inside the airport terminal, monitor and secure passenger exit lane
  • Monitor and control curbside traffic, including pedestrian management
  • Perform foot patrol at the terminal parking lot, perimeter of the airport, and concourses
  • May provide escorts and security for construction of runways, taxiways and terminals/concourses
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Incident/Occurrence Reports for any incident or event that directly involves customer complaints/concerns, safety/security or operational issues/events.
  • Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
  • Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
  • Complete security/safety training programs
  • Participate in industry specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best trained Security Guards at their airports.
  • Post training, knowledgeable of and compliant with airport-specific operations performance manual and post orders.

Position Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Previous contract security, military or law enforcement experience preferred.

Requirements
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Proof of ability to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to pass Company background check
  • Able to pass Airport background check per Transportation Security Administration requirements for a SIDA badge (Security Identification Display Area)
  • Able to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Security Guards where and when applicable
  • A minimum of three to six months of prior security experience

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
  • Interpersonal and communications and customer service skills
  • Reliable attendance
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position including must be physically capable of standing or walking an entire shift, able to lift a 25lb, climb into a truck or trailer, bending, stooping, and crouching to view areas of a vehicle
