Job description

Part-Time Field Broadcast Technician

Location: Ft. Wayne, IN
Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Field Broadcast Technician to support live and remote broadcast operations. This role is responsible for transporting equipment, setting up, and breaking down remote broadcast sites, maintaining cleanliness of station vehicles, and assisting with logistical needs including supply purchasing. The ideal candidate is organized, technically inclined, comfortable working independently in fast-paced environment, and enjoys working with the public.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive station vehicles to and from remote broadcast locations in a safe and professional manner
  • Safely tow and maneuver station trailer as required
  • Load, transport, set up, test, and break down remote broadcast equipment
  • Ensure proper operation of audio, technical, and support equipment at remote sites
  • Purchase and transport food, beverages, and other supplies for remote events as directed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of station vehicles and trailers
  • Conduct routine vehicle and equipment checks before and after events
  • Promptly report vehicle or broadcast equipment issues to direct manager
  • Represent the station professionally at promotional and community events
  • Assist team members to ensure successful remote broadcasts

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Experience towing a trailer preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds
  • Basic technical aptitude (audio or broadcast equipment experience a plus)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Self-motivated and dependable

Work Environment

  • Primarily off-site at remote broadcast locations
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Physical activity including lifting, bending, and equipment setup
