Continuous documentation and proactive communication are key to ensuring quality results and addressing any technical hurdles promptly.

What is remote antibody purification?

Remote antibody purification refers to the process of isolating and purifying antibodies from biological samples using specialized equipment and protocols, while working from a location outside of a traditional laboratory, often through remote monitoring or collaboration. This typically involves coordinating with on-site staff, managing instruments through cloud-based software, and analyzing data remotely. Remote antibody purification is increasingly possible due to advances in laboratory automation and digital connectivity, allowing scientists to participate in research and production from virtually anywhere.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Antibody Purification Specialist, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Antibody Purification Specialist, you typically need a background in biochemistry or a related field, with hands-on experience in protein purification techniques such as affinity chromatography. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), automated purification equipment, and relevant quality control protocols is essential. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective remote communication are crucial soft skills for success. These abilities ensure accurate, reproducible purification processes and effective collaboration in distributed scientific teams.

Job description

Scientific Inside Sales Account Manager — Proteos

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer

Location: Remote (US)

Travel: Occasional (industry conferences, ~10%)

About Proteos

Proteos is a contract research organization specializing in protein expression, purification, and characterization for biopharma R&D. We support discovery and early development teams at biotech and pharmaceutical companies with complex, custom protein production projects — from antibodies and enzymes to challenging membrane proteins. Proteos recently became part of a combined structural biology services group, expanding our ability to support customers across the drug development lifecycle.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring an Inside Sales Account Manager to drive top-of-funnel growth for the Proteos business and partner with our commercial lead to close. This role sits at the intersection of marketing and sales: you’ll convert marketing-generated interest into qualified sales opportunities, run targeted outbound into priority accounts, and partner with our commercial lead to drive qualified opportunities through quote to close.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer with a strong dotted line to marketing is intentional. We want this role tightly coupled to our campaign engine — webinars, content syndication, ABM, and conference follow-up — and to our commercial close motion, so that every lead gets a timely, scientifically credible touch and qualified opportunities are driven through to close.

What You’ll Do

· Qualify inbound leads generated by marketing (webinar registrants, content downloads, conference scans, website inquiries) through discovery conversations that assess fit, need, timing, and budget

· Run targeted outbound prospecting into named accounts — primarily biotech and pharma R&D teams — using a mix of email, phone, and LinkedIn

· Partner closely with the marketing team on campaign design, message testing, and post-campaign follow-up sequences; provide field-level feedback on what’s resonating

· Book discovery meetings for our commercial lead, sit in on calls to capture signals and next steps in CRM, and own follow-up through close

· Maintain pipeline hygiene in Proteos CRM: log activities, track lead status, and report on conversion metrics

· Hit weekly and monthly targets for qualified meetings booked and sales-accepted opportunities created

· Build foundational scientific fluency in protein expression and purification so you can hold a credible first conversation with a Ph.D.-level scientist

· Partner with the commercial lead on quoting; own quote follow-through to closed-won

What We’re Looking For

Required

· Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding qualified opportunity and revenue/closed-won targets, ideally for protein production services or similar reagent services.

· 3–6 years of inside sales, business development, or account management experience, ideally in life sciences services, CRO, or scientific instruments

· Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline (biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or similar) — or equivalent industry experience that demonstrates scientific literacy

· Hands-on CRM experience (Zoho, Salesforce, or HubSpot)

· Strong written communication; able to draft a credible technical email without sounding like a script

· Self-directed and disciplined — this is a fully remote role

Preferred

· Direct experience selling into biopharma / biotech

· Familiarity with protein production workflows, antibody discovery, or related modalities

· Exposure to a sales qualification methodology such as MEDDPICC, BANT, or SPICED

· Experience with marketing automation platforms and ABM tools

· History of converting webinar audiences and other leads into pipeline

· Located in Kalamazoo, MI, but remote applicants will be considered

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days, you’ll have built scientific baseline knowledge of our service portfolio, taken over inbound qualification, and started contributing to campaign planning. By month six, you’ll be consistently delivering qualified opportunities and driving deals through quote to close in partnership with our commercial lead.
