Job description

Your Role We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Attorney who is ready to take ownership of cases, advocate with purpose, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of injured employees across North Carolina. In this position, you will represent plaintiff-employees throughout every stage of their workers' compensation claims โ€” from initial case handling through litigation and appeals. You will play a critical role in securing benefits and delivering strong legal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Represent injured employees in North Carolina workers' compensation claims
โ€ข Manage cases across all phases, including pre-litigation, discovery, settlement negotiations, and appeals
โ€ข Litigate cases before the Deputy Commissioner, Full Commission, and North Carolina Court of Appeals
โ€ข Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and appellate briefs
โ€ข Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable outcomes on behalf of clients
โ€ข Guide clients through the legal process with clarity and confidence
โ€ข Oversee and collaborate with case managers and paralegals
Qualifications
โ€ข J.D. from an accredited law school
โ€ข Licensed to practice law in North Carolina
โ€ข Minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation (plaintiff or defense; plaintiff-side preferred)
โ€ข Experience handling complex workers' compensation claims
โ€ข Strong understanding of medical issues and hearing processes in these cases
โ€ข Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
โ€ข Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
โ€ข Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
โ€ข Experience with Litify is a plus
