This position is fully remote, allowing counselors the flexibility to design their work environments while staying connected to our community of dedicated professionals. Our team utilizes state-of-the-art electronic health record systems, including AVATAR, to facilitate seamless documentation and communication. This role requires a commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices as per the guidelines set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, documenting cases meticulously from the initial consultation through to successful treatment completion.
• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to inform diagnosis and treatment strategies.
• Develop comprehensive intervention and recovery plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open communication and healing.
• Consistently monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals—including psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers—to coordinate integrated care.
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians concerning clients who may require hospitalization and coordinate care upon discharge.
• Identify and proactively address behaviors that may hinder client recovery, offering strategies for overcoming these challenges.
• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers as they help manage the mental and behavioral challenges faced by loved ones.

This role focuses on a diverse clientele, with individuals ranging from teens to adults dealing with various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and addiction issues. Counselors will engage with clients from various backgrounds, providing culturally competent care that respects their individual experiences and needs.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
• A passing score in the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated critical thinking abilities paired with excellent clinical insight and decision-making skills.

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting, preferably with a focus on addiction disorders.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, for case management and clinical documentation.
• An understanding of physical and emotional health conditions and their impact on mental health outcomes.
• Knowledge of prescription medication effects as guided by medical specialists and familiarity with integrated treatment approaches.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually.
