• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying specific needs and formulating effective treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based individual and group counseling sessions that focus on addressing emotional challenges related to addiction, grief, and life's transitions.
• Collaborate interprofessionally with healthcare teams—including physicians, nurses, and social workers—to develop and implement holistic care plans that promote optimal health outcomes for geriatric residents.
• Offer educational workshops and resources to staff and family members, aiming to enhance their understanding of emotional well-being and effective communication strategies.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions, offering support to clients and their families experiencing end-of-life issues.
• Ensure compliance with all state and organizational regulations, maintaining precise documentation and client confidentiality.

This position focuses on providing compassionate mental health support to the senior population within our Geriatric Care Clinic. You will engage with clients who are facing a variety of challenges, including addiction recovery, bereavement, and the emotional impacts of aging. Your role is pivotal in helping these clients reclaim their quality of life and develop coping strategies to manage their unique circumstances.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, including all state-mandated requirements.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience in mental health counseling, particularly with the geriatric population or addiction recovery.
• Exceptional communication skills that foster trust and ease in client interactions.
• Ability to establish rapport quickly and create a safe, therapeutic environment for clients.

• Experience working with addiction counseling methodologies and techniques.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Motivational Interviewing.
• Prior experience in a remote counseling setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of community resources and support networks available for seniors.

Connected Minds Counseling Services offers a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and hours worked.
