Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to gather pertinent information regarding clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional well-being.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions and provide one-on-one counseling to foster a supportive therapeutic environment.
• Monitor clients' progress throughout their treatment journey and adjust intervention strategies as necessary.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, medical professionals, and social workers, to coordinate care and optimize treatment outcomes.
• Assist clients with navigating referrals and follow-ups, ensuring they receive comprehensive care when necessary.
• Work with families and primary caregivers to help them understand and manage mental health challenges more effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our services cater to a diverse clientele facing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will engage with clients from all walks of life, providing empathetic support and evidence-based therapeutic interventions that resonate with their unique circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrable capacity for effective clinical assessment and intervention using established best practices.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a similar mental health counselor role, with a focus on addiction and dual diagnosis preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, for managing client documentation.
• Understanding of various therapeutic modalities and techniques conducive to client recovery.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to connect with clients.

Compensation and Benefits
