Position Responsibilities:
  • Establishes department yearly goals, following administration's strategic plan, and work towards the achievement of these
  • Assists with calculating yearly budget and monitor monthly expenses and revenues in order to maintain established budget
  • Maintains current programs operating efficiently as established in yearly goals and documented in the department records
  • Educates and train staff on all new programs, P and P and assure that staff is trained to carry out new protocols as demonstrated by review of their competency assessments
  • Monitors all therapy areas to assure patient quality of care is provided and maintained
  • Identifies processes/program(s) dysfunctions, reports to appropriate administrative personnel and assist in the interdepartmental development and implementation of corrective strategies /changes
  • Is knowledgeable of and ensures compliance with accreditation, certification and government standard that are relevant to rehabilitation including OSHA, CMS, AHCA, JCAHO and CARF
  • Monitors federal and state changes referring to billing or reimbursement issues and implement changes as needed
  • Monitors staff compliance with utilization and billing practices and take corrective action as needed
  • Daily monitoring of patient/staff ratios, Labor Utilization Reviews, (daily attendance, punctuality and overtime), take corrective actions as necessary in order to maintain productivity standards
  • Attends all medical center's meetings (administrative, interdepartmental, PI, special projects, etc) that will affect the functions of the Rehabilitation Division
  • Conducts staff meetings within, established time frames, maintain meeting minutes and attendance lists
  • Assists in the development and implementation of PI and outcomes management programs by collaborating with other departments, encourage staff'ss participation, meeting with the rehab staff to review projects and by discussing results with the staff
  • During Director's absence, will be responsible for resolving any issues that require immediate attention, provide coverage for scheduled meetings as instructed by Director and will communicate with Director regarding unusual events

Qualifications:
  • Rehabilitation Licensure (PT, OT, SLP or RN). BLS/CPR certification
  • Grad of PT, OT, SP, or RN program, in accordance with state licensing requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in Rehab setting or equivalent at discretion of Director.
