Quality Staffing, Inc., also working as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for experienced Rehabilitation Assistants/Behavioral Therapy Specialists to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (TN DDA) located in Nashville, TN. This is an on-site position working three 12.5-hour shifts per week with a rotating schedule including weekends, nights and holidays with the day shift being from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm and the night shift from 6:30 pm to 7:30 am. The pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour.

The Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) is seeking Rehabilitation Assistants for the Harold Jordan Center. The DDA operates the Harold Jordan Center located in Nashville and the center is a facility which provides 24-hour residential care to support and maintain the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional capabilities of people with an intellectual disability. In addition, the Harold Jordan Center offers a residential program which provides specialized forensic and behavior stabilization services to persons with an intellectual disability. The center is primarily responsible for ensuring the daily health, safety, and welfare of people who reside there while also providing for their daily services and supports. The services typically provided are personalized care, self-help training, ambulation, communication and socialization skills, intensive care for personalized habilitation training in self-help, language development, and motor skills for people with intellectual disabilities.

Rehabilitation Assistant Essential Job Duties will include:
  • Under immediate supervision, perform vocational behavioral therapy technical work of routine difficulty and perform related work as required.
  • Will provide vocational, habilitation training, therapy, and supervision for intellectually and developmentally disabled clients.
  • Follow the individual support plan to ensure the needs and the active treatment requirements of persons served are met.
  • Communicate with families, conservators, and employers of persons served and the public to share information and meet active treatment requirements.
  • Analyze medical treatment and training data to detect changes in needs, behavior, and abilities.
  • Analyze environmental data to ensure the safety and appropriate environment for persons served.
  • Promote teamwork and working together.
  • Train other staff on active treatment interventions to meet the requirements of individual support plans of persons served.

Education and Minimum Qualifications Needed for Rehabilitation Assistant position:
  • Education equivalent to graduation from high school and experience equivalent to one year of full-time work in providing services for disabled persons *(a copy of high school diploma or GED must be provided to submit to the state upon acceptance).
  • Substitution of Education for Experience: additional college or technical coursework with at least nine quarter hours in education, a social or behavioral science, industrial arts, nursing, or mental health or human services field from an accredited college, university, or technical school may be substituted for the required experience.
  • A valid vehicle operator's license will be required for employment in this position.
  • All necessary training is provided on-site.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and a criminal background check is required.
