What you bring to SBHG:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a mental health field is required; a master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least two (2) years of direct service experience working with individuals with severe mental health disorders.
    • One (1) year of clinical supervisory experience in an outpatient, hospital, or residential setting (preferred).
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience conducting clinical training or overseeing a training program (preferred).
  • Licensure & Certifications: A valid California Driver's License and Pro-ACT certification.

How you will make a difference(Job Overview):

The Regional Director of Training is responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, and delivery of training programs in the Southern Region. The Training Director oversees new employee orientation, required in-service training, and specialized clinical training within a mental health setting. This includes providing educational services to all staff in support of the clinical treatment of seriously emotionally disturbed clients.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining accurate records of all staff training and attendance; regularly delivering training sessions to both groups and individuals; and creating opportunities to host trainings for other professionals or collaborate with external organizations. Additionally, the Training Director builds and maintains relationships with County staff, universities, and other organizations to assess training needs, secure qualified trainers, and develop joint training initiatives.

Population Served:Children, Youth, Adults, and Families battling trauma, mental illness, neglect, or substance abuse | Capacity: 40,000+ individuals served annually across ~60 program sites statewide

Facility & Setting:Multidisciplinary program sites (~60 locations across California, including outpatient, residential, and community-based settings)

Clinical Services:Trauma-informed care, mental health treatment, and substance abuse interventions

Length of Stay:Varies by specific program track and setting (ranging from acute/short-term to ongoing outpatient support)
