Job description

Resources for Seniors, Inc. is seeking a full-time Regional Service Coordinator in our Service Coordination Department to provide supportive services to clients in a blended capacity at both senior housing complexes and the senior centers around Western Wake County. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist older adults in obtaining services necessary to meet multiple needs within the home and community.

Essential Functions

ยท Connecting seniors with appropriate community resources;

ยท Establishing links with other local agencies and service providers to offer wider variety of resources and programs to the senior adults in the community;

ยท Scheduling a diverse selection of health/wellness/educational programs at the Senior Centers and assigned apartment complex(es) as needed;

ยท Supporting SHIIP counselors/consultations at various site locations as needed;

ยท Attending continuing education sessions and other trainings/meetings as needed or required;

ยท Maintaining departmental, agency reports and other required administrative records on an ongoing basis;

ยท Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

ยท Four-year degree in a social science field highly preferred/equivalent experience considered;

ยท Knowledge of services/resources available within the community for seniors and disabled adults;

ยท Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills;

ยท Advanced user in Microsoft computer applications;

ยท Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;

ยท Extremely self-motivated and able to work independently;

ยท Clean driving record.

(SHIIP certified counselor is highly preferred but not required upon hire)

This service coordination position is a full-time, benefit eligible, exempt position working an average of 40 hours a week Monday-Friday.
