Technology Meeting Engineer

Cooley is seeking a Meeting Engineer to join the technology team.

Position summary: The Technology Meeting Engineer is responsible for the firm's strategy, governance, support, and lifecycle management of the firm's Zoom platform and global meeting services. This role ensures reliable, secure, and high-quality meeting experiences across all offices by designing scalable Zoom architectures, establishing operational standards, and leading global meeting support operations. The Technology Meeting Engineer oversees the design, configuration, and lifecycle management of Zoom Rooms, Zoom Webinars, Zoom Phone integrations, and related AV technologies. The role partners closely with Audio Visual, Network, Security, and Office Technology Managers to ensure collaboration technologies are standardized, secured, optimized, and consistently supported across the firm. They are responsible for platform architecture, operational governance, user support strategies, and vendor coordination. This position also leads the meeting support teams responsible for assisting attorneys and staff with high-profile meetings, firmwide events, executive-level conferencing, and ensures seamless meeting delivery. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

CORE AV / Collaboration Platform Architecture:

  • Design and maintain the firmwide Zoom architecture, including Zoom Rooms, Zoom Meetings, Zoom Webinars, and platform integrations
  • Define global standards for meeting configurations, room profiles, licensing models, and platform governance
  • Ensure consistent deployment standards for Zoom-enabled meeting spaces across offices
  • Oversee lifecycle management, upgrades, and refresh strategies for Zoom platform components
  • Develop documentation for system configurations, security settings, and operational procedures

Meeting Support Operations:

  • Lead the meeting support team responsible for real-time meeting assistance and troubleshooting
  • Develop support protocols for executive meetings, client events, webinars, and large-scale firmwide broadcasts
  • Coordinate coverage across time zones to ensure 24/7 meeting support readiness
  • Define escalation procedures and incident response workflows for meeting disruptions
  • Enforce service level consistency and deliver exceptional meeting experiences

Vendor & Platform Management:

  • Serve as primary liaison with Zoom and related collaboration vendors
  • Manage platform upgrades, new feature evaluations and rollouts, and service enhancements
  • Evaluate new collaboration tools and integrations that enhance meeting experiences
  • Monitor vendor performance, licensing utilization, and platform health metrics

Collaboration with Office Technology Managers (OTM):

  • Partner with OTMs on conference room deployments and Zoom Room integrations
  • Provide architectural guidance for meeting technology deployments in new offices or redesigned conference rooms
  • Support OTMs with escalated Zoom troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Deliver knowledge transfer, training, and operational documentation to local office technology teams

Technical Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day health and performance of the firm's Zoom environment
  • Manage platform configurations, policies, security settings, and user provisioning
  • Coordinate troubleshooting of escalated conferencing issues across AV, network, and infrastructure teams
  • Monitor system performance, adoption metrics, and usage trends

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure all Zoom configurations adhere to firm security policies and governance standards
  • Coordinate with the Security team on encryption, authentication, and access control measures

Training & User Experience:

  • Define and drive firmwide AV and collaboration training strategy in partnership with Learning & Adoption and training teams
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for AV, Zoom Rooms, and collaboration technologies,establishingbest practices, standards, and training content frameworks
  • Partner with Learning & Adoption to enable scalable training delivery, ensuring consistent and high-quality end-user education across offices
  • Develop core training materials, playbooks, and standards whileleveragingtraining teams to execute firmwidedelivery
  • Ensuretraining programs align with AV standards, user experience goals, and technology adoption objectives
  • Continuously improve user experience and meeting qualitythrough feedback, analytics, and training effectiveness
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • 4+ years directly applicable experience (e.g., managing enterprise collaboration platforms or conferencing environments). Senior candidates considered with 5+ years applicable experience.
  • Experience designing and managing Zoom enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of Zoom Rooms, Webinars, and enterprise collaboration ecosystems
  • Experience supporting executive-level meetings and high-visibility events
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and platform governance skills
  • Ability to coordinate support across multiple offices and time zones

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working in professional services or law firm environment
  • Experience integrating Zoom with AV platforms (Crestron, QSC, DTEN, etc.)
  • Knowledge of conferencing technologies, networking fundamentals, and AV-over-IP environments

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $115,000 - $160,000. Senior level candidates may be considered for this position and would be eligible for a higher salary range based on experience. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
