Founded by Dr. David Berman, BSI blends advanced medical technology with compassionate patient care. Our San Francisco location is preparing to launch an exciting new Red Light Membership Program, and we are seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager with strong leadership and sales skills to support daily operations and drive program success.

Position Overview

The Assistant Manager plays a key role in the efficient daily operations of our San Francisco dermatology practice. This role supports the Clinic Manager, leads the front- and back-office teams, ensures exceptional patient experience, and plays a critical part in meeting clinic goals.

With the launch of our Red-Light Therapy Membership Program, this position will also focus heavily on sales, promotion, membership growth, and team training.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Provide leadership and oversight to front desk staff, medical assistants, and clinical support teams.
  • Assist with scheduling, daily staffing needs, and workflow management to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Help enforce clinical protocols, patient flow standards, safety procedures, and compliance guidelines.
  • Conduct opening and closing procedures, oversee cash handling, and ensure end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Participate in weekly management meetings and assist with reporting clinic metrics and performance.

Sales & Membership Program (Red-Light Program Launch)

  • Lead the rollout of the new Red-Light Therapy Membership Program in the San Francisco clinic.
  • Actively promote, present, and close memberships, products, and cosmetic services.
  • Meet monthly sales targets tied to membership conversions and cosmetic service revenue.
  • Train and motivate staff to confidently discuss membership benefits and answer patient questions.
  • Build excitement and awareness among patients through in-clinic promotion, follow-up outreach, and education.
  • Partner with the marketing and leadership team to refine membership offerings and improve conversion rates.

Patient Experience

  • Ensure patients receive high-quality, compassionate, and efficient service at every visit.
  • Resolve patient concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues appropriately.
  • Oversee front desk operations, including appointment scheduling, check-in/out, and patient communication.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment.

Staff Training & Development

  • Coach and mentor team members to improve performance, professionalism, and service quality.
  • Support employee evaluations and provide feedback to the Clinic Manager on performance and staffing needs.

Administrative & Compliance Duties

  • Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and vendor coordination.
  • Ensure documentation standards are met for medical and cosmetic visits.
  • Support the Clinic Manager with payroll submissions, timecards, and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and internal BSI standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of supervisory or assistant management experience in a healthcare, spa, cosmetic, or dermatology setting preferred.
  • Strong sales background, with proven ability to close services or membership-based products.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Experience with EMR systems, scheduling platforms, and basic reporting tools.
  • Professional, patient-focused, and team-oriented approach.

Bonus Skills

  • Prior dermatology or cosmetic medicine experience.
  • Experience training teams on sales or service promotions.
  • Knowledge of laser treatments, skincare products, and cosmetic services.

Why Join BSI?

  • Work in a top-tier dermatology and cosmetic practice with advanced technology and high patient demand.
  • Opportunity to be a key leader in launching a brand-new membership program in a flagship location.
  • Supportive leadership team and room for career advancement.
  • Employee discounts, competitive compensation, and great benefits.
