The Program Manager II independently leads a moderately complex program with multiple stakeholders and interdependent projects. This role owns program planning, governance, execution, and delivery while partnering directly with program sponsors to drive business outcomes.

Program Manager IIs operate with a high degree of autonomy, anticipate risks, influence decisions across teams, and leverage AI to improve delivery efficiency and program effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with program sponsors to define program vision, scope, success criteria, KPIs, and delivery plans for a moderately complex program.
  • Establish governance cadence, facilitate decision-making, and drive accountability across program stakeholders.
  • Coordinate roadmaps, dependencies, and milestones, resolving most delivery issues independently.
  • Maintain integrated reporting across delivery, quality, adoption, and key program outcomes while providing transparent communication to stakeholders.
  • Apply AI to improve prioritization, planning, execution, and adoption across assigned programs.
  • Translate program status, risks, and outcomes into clear, actionable updates for sponsors and business leaders.
  • Partner with sponsors to monitor program benefits, recommend adjustments, and drive alignment when outcomes drift from plan.
  • Anticipate program risks, resource constraints, and dependency conflicts, bringing recommendations for resolution.
  • Develop reusable templates, tools, and delivery practices that improve consistency across programs.
  • Lead program closeout activities, validate operational ownership, and incorporate lessons learned into future delivery.
  • Mentor newer Program Managers and Project Managers through informal coaching and by modeling effective program management practices.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years in program and/or project management with demonstrated ownership of moderately complex cross-functional programs.
  • Experience leading governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience partnering with business leaders to drive program outcomes.
  • BS/BA in business, information systems, or a related field.

Preferred

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience tracking business outcomes and program benefits.
  • Experience informally mentoring or onboarding peers.
