Position Description: Job Title: USPS Operations Manager (Transportation / Mail Delivery)Company: Sadler Brothers Trucking and Leasing– USPS Contracted Carrier Location: Nashville, TN Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Operations / OwnerJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented USPS Operations Manager to oversee daily USPS mail delivery operations. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring on-time performance, full route coverage, regulatory compliance, and the efficient management of drivers and transportation resources. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and service excellence in support of the USPS.Key Responsibilities• Ensure On-Time Delivery & Performance: Oversee all aspects of USPS mail transportation to guarantee on-time delivery, meet or exceed service standards, and maintain contractual performance metrics.• Route Coverage & Contract Compliance: Maintain full route coverage across all assigned USPS contracts; proactively identify and resolve coverage gaps.• TMS Maintenance: Manage and maintain the Transportation Management System (TMS), ensuring accurate data entry, route optimization, and system integrity.• Driver Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a team of professional drivers. Conduct performance evaluations, enforce safety protocols, and promote a positive team culture.• Recruiting Support: Assist with driver and operational staff recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention efforts to maintain adequate staffing levels.• Hours of Service (HOS) Compliance: Monitor and enforce Hours of Service regulations, driver logs, and DOT/FMCSA compliance requirements.• Payroll & Administrative Support: Assist with biweekly payroll processing, timekeeping accuracy, and related administrative tasks.• Reporting: Develop and generate operational reports as requested, including performance dashboards, delivery metrics, and compliance reports.• Daily Operations Oversight: Provide general leadership and hands-on management of all daily USPS operations, including problem-solving, communication with USPS representatives, and continuous process improvement.Qualifications & Requirements• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or mail delivery operations, with direct USPS or postal contract experience strongly preferred.• Proven experience managing drivers and transportation teams.• Thorough knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, DOT compliance, and transportation management systems (TMS).• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to support mail operations.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for reporting) and TMS/operational software.• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.What We Offer• Competitive salary based on experience• Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.)• Paid time off and holidays• Supportive team environment focused on service and performance
