Job description

Job Title: Receiver
Department: Grocery
Reports to: Grocery Manager
Starting Rate of Pay: $18.25/hr.
Position Summary: Verifies that the correct products are being received from vendors
Job Duties:
- Greets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact
- Receives products from vendors, checks all merchandise with invoice, processes and approves invoices correctly, breaks down pallet deliveries, bales boxes
- Sorts and restack pallets in warehouse, oversee proper placement of merchandise, keep warehouse clean and neat
- Monitors traffic of delivery trucks, while controlling the flow of vendors through the back room
- Makes sure that credits are out in a timely manner
- Makes sure safety forms are completed for all machinery on a daily usage basis
- Maintains awareness of security measures to avoid losses to the company
- Performs other related duties as needed as assigned by manager
Capabilities:
- Stand for long periods of time, very frequent walking back and forth in grocery warehouse
- Carry up to 60 pounds, push and pull up to 1000 pounds, frequent motions with arms/hands to stock items, bend to pick up and restack pallets
- Use of proper safety procedures
- Able to use fork lift, electric and manual pallet jack, check hydraulics, oil, water, propane for proper working order
- Able to use a DSD smart gun
- Able to multitask, listen to directions and follow through independently
- Able to deal with difficult vendors, have good communication and observation skills
- Able to work independently
