Position Summary:
This role is responsible to lead and assist with coordinating warehouse functions such as selecting, receiving, shipping, inventory, etc. as assigned and ensuring shift responsibilities are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Provides on-the-job training to associates as necessary.
Here's what you'll do:
  • Lead and assist with coordinating warehouse functions such as selecting, receiving, shipping, inventory, etc. as assigned.
  • Move or otherwise handle cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and/or tobacco products and related products as identified on order forms, in the quantities specified.
  • Work with associates to ensure selection, receiving, shipping and/or storage of products is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Lead shift workflow: assign work to associates and review for accuracy, efficiency and compliance to operational and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with resolving issues, with associates and/or customers, which may arise during the shift.
  • Provide on-the-job training to associates within assigned area(s) on the responsibilities of the position to ensure accurate processes and methods are followed and train on the proper use of equipment.
  • Review paperwork (i.e., product orders, receiving/unloading, shipping, etc.) for accuracy of information and to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Work with Warehouse Supervisors to prepare shift work schedules, lead and expedite workflow processes, establish processes and procedures, and implement and/or train on new procedures.
  • Provide feedback of work performance to Warehouse Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Operate power industrial equipment such as a forklift, long-tongued electric pallet jack, high-extender high-lift and other moving equipment (i.e., walkers).
  • Lift products weighing between 30-60 lbs. frequently and products weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally, while ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by properly disposing of pallet boards, wood chips, and other trash, etc. and ensuring any spills are cleaned up quickly and according to safety guidelines.
  • Conduct inspections of powered industrial equipment as required, using a safety checklist, to ensure such equipment is in good working order.
  • Report damaged product and quality issues and notify supervisor of out-of-stock or low volume product(s).
  • Participate in product selection, put-away and rotation of products and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here's what you'll need:
  • One year warehouse/distribution experience.
  • Must be certified, or willing to obtain and maintain certification, on all required powered industrial equipment such as forklift, electric pallet jack, long-tongued electric pallet jack and high-extender high lift.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation in the conditions specified for 8 - 10-hour shifts. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, day and evening hours, and overtime as assigned.
  • Must be able to follow verbal (oral) and written instructions.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to provide work direction and training to others and solve problems.
  • Good computer skills in Excel and Word and knowledge of warehouse systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse operation.
  • Able to safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and other material handling/industrial equipment.
  • Must follow safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies and practices.
  • Ability to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g., freezer, coolers, dry conditions).
  • Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled.
  • Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others.
  • Must work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.
  • Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.

Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
