How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Pricing Manger's primary purpose is to manage maximum margin realization through analysis of pricing and the implementation of pricing strategy, across all of the Electric Heat division. The incumbent aims to optimize profit while managing the market level pricing, project level discount structure and authority.  Key areas of responsibility include market price analysis, market price setting, discount process management and authority by channel, customer, and product. Additionally, this role is responsible for the cross-functional support in product positioning and go-to-market launch strategies. Success in this role requires extensive financial analytical aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of internal quoting and order management systems.
 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1. Pricing Process & Policies

  • Define, implement, and monitor the discount process by product, customer, and channel across all brands
  • Implement and monitor the pricing authority framework across the inside sales teams to achieve strong OP growth
  • Design and implement best-practice capabilities for pricing authority and management
  • Define the long-term product, customer, and channel pricing strategies for profitable growth and market dpreference, across all brands.
  • Utilize cost / pricing structures in quoting system to develop and manage pricing strategy
  • Monitor and maintain proper pricing framework in all appropriate systems, configurators, etc.
  • Lead and execute market level price adjustments across all products, customers, channels, and brands

2. Analysis and Review

  • Review product, channel, sales leader, brand etc. sales/profit performance; devise strategies to accelerate/correct to achieve sales/profit goal
  • Develop reports and analytics tools for product, customer, channel, brand profitability 
  • Analyze win/loss (hit rate) in terms of quoting vs competitive pricing adjustments
  • Analyze order and quote information to determine best price practices, and competitive pricing
  • Ensure all products in the portfolio have the appropriate pricing strategy across all levels based on channel, brand, and end market.

3. Support 

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure optimal, disciplined pricing strategy to achieve growth plans, including structure, coverage, training, and tools
  • Develop pricing and promotional strategies based on marketing research and competitive analysis; implement these strategies in conjunction with Sales and Marketing to establish and maintain market position 
  • Contribute to commission strategy for reps and Regional Sales Managers
  • Provide recommendations on focus areas for VAVE/Sourcing to improve profitability
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and Ops team to execute VAVE projects
  • Partner with Finance to monitor and adjust pricing strategy for growth and profitability improvements
  • Potentially other duties and responsibilities assigned

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in a relevant experience in FP&A, business analytics, finance, accounting, pricing, or other analytics department required
  • Proven experience in developing pricing strategies, structure, forecasting, and other financial modeling
  • Experience completing financial analysis in developing business cases and setting value-based pricing
  • Experience in various quoting processes and order management systems

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated success in B2B business strategies (B2B + B2C preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in pricing management across multiple channels and brands (additionally across diverse end markets preferred)
  • Experience using market, channel, industry, and commercial intelligence to drive decision making

 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Engineering required (MBA preferred)

 

Travel & Working Environment

  • Hybrid work-from-home model environment
  • Must be able to travel < 25% of the time
  • Must have access to high-speed internet and phone service
  • Must have access to airport within short driving distance
