Financial Cost Modeling Analyst
The Financial Cost Modeling Analyst plays a critical role in driving profitable growth by developing and maintaining robust cost models that support pricing, quoting, forecasting, and strategic business decisions. By translating complex cost data into actionable insights, this role helps ensure business opportunities are evaluated using accurate, data-driven assumptions and realistic profitability expectations. Partnering closely with Finance, Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams, the analyst identifies cost drivers, uncovers opportunities for efficiency and margin improvement, and enhances organizational understanding of cost performance. This position offers the opportunity to influence key business decisions, improve financial outcomes, and serve as a trusted advisor in shaping the company's long-term profitability and competitive success
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance cost models to support pricing, quoting, forecasting, and strategic business decisions across product lines and customer programs.
    Serve as the primary product costing partner for assigned business units and cross-functional teams, providing financial analysis and cost guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare and analyze RFQ business cases, including product launches, engineering changes, and customer quote revisions, ensuring accurate profitability assessments and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Analyze cost structures, key cost drivers, and profitability metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and recommendations for cost optimization and margin improvement.
  • Prepare customer cost breakdowns, pricing analyses, and financial support for customer negotiations, including evaluation of price changes, upfront payments, rebates, and commercial proposals.
  • Track, monitor, and report cost assumptions, cost improvements, and program profitability to support informed decision-making and business performance objectives.
  • Partner with Finance, Commercial, Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations teams to validate cost data, develop quoting methodologies, and ensure alignment on financial assumptions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, rate development, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving costing accuracy, reporting efficiency, and overall financial performance.
  • Maintain, optimize, and continuously improve the organization's global product costing and calculation systems, methodologies, and databases to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate costing documentation, assumptions, and historical cost data to support future quoting activities and business decisions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or closely related field.
• 1-3 years business related or Finance related experience

  • 3+ years of position related experience
  • Automotive industry experience
  • Engineering or Financial background
