At Pretium Packaging, we are looking for a Pricing Manager to join our growing team and help build a world-class pricing function. In this highly visible role, you'll partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, and Key Account Managers to develop pricing strategies that drive profitable growth while improving pricing processes, governance, and commercial decision-making.
This is a hybrid position based out of Pretium Packaging's Birmingham, Michigan office.

What You'll Do:
Drive Pricing Strategy:
• Develop pricing recommendations that support profitable growth and business objectives.
• Evaluate pricing opportunities across customers, products, market segments, and sales channels.
• Lead pricing reviews for new business, renewals, market adjustments, customer requests, and pricing exceptions.
• Support annual pricing initiatives and market-driven price increases.
• Translate market trends and business data into actionable pricing strategies.
Partner with Sales:
• Serve as the primary pricing resource for Sales and Key Account Managers.
• Collaborate on pricing strategies and customer negotiations through internal commercial teams.
• Participate in sales meetings and commercial reviews to guide pricing decisions.
• Coach commercial teams on pricing tools, best practices, and governance.
• Ensure pricing decisions align with company strategy and approval processes.
Strengthen Pricing Governance:
• Maintain pricing policies, approval workflows, and pricing guidelines.
• Review pricing requests, discount proposals, and exception approvals.
• Drive consistency, transparency, and pricing discipline across the business.
• Help enhance pricing governance as the organization continues to grow.
Leverage Market Intelligence:
• Partner with Marketing and business leaders to understand competitive trends and customer insights.
• Incorporate market intelligence into pricing recommendations and quoting decisions.
• Deliver clear, data-driven recommendations to support commercial decision-making.
Build Better Processes:
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate pricing workflows.
• Support pricing across ERP systems, CRM platforms, BI tools, and other business systems.
• Develop scalable pricing tools, reporting, templates, and methodologies.
• Help build a best-in-class pricing organization capable of supporting continued growth.
What You Bring:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in Pricing, Commercial Finance, FP&A, Revenue Management, Sales Operations, Business Analytics, or a related function.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience developing pricing recommendations that influence business decisions.
• Ability to interpret market, financial, and commercial information to support pricing strategy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Comfortable working in a growing organization where new processes and capabilities are being developed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in manufacturing, plastics, packaging, industrial products, distribution, or another B2B environment.
• Knowledge of value-based pricing, pricing strategy, price realization, and pricing governance.
• Experience with ERP systems, CRM platforms, BI tools, or pricing software.
• Experience partnering closely with Sales teams and Key Account Managers.
• MBA or other advanced business degree.
