Position Summary:

The Retail Pricing Strategy Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the development, consistent execution, and ongoing evaluation of retail pricing strategies for our corporate retail stores and the suggested retail price zones for our independent retail customers. This includes all aspects of strategy development, execution, pricing architecture, standards, and guidelines. An essential part of this role is maintaining business partnerships with Merchandising, Retail and Marketing leaders to ensure pricing strategies help deliver business objectives. This role is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Pricing Analysts, providing guidance to the team while fostering individual ownership and accountability.

Here'swhatyou'lldo:

  • Lead the development and execution of retail pricing strategies and data hosting processes to maximize revenue and achieve business goals. Work cross functionally with merchandising leadership to ensure alignment of pricing strategies with category management strategies and Companyobjectives.

  • Lead the evaluation of consumer insights, market dynamics, and performance trends to assess and revise pricing strategies as appropriate to drive performance. Build and use models to forecast the impact of price strategy changes on units, sales, margin, and share.

  • Guide and enhance business processes and routines used to manage item pricing.

  • Responsible for evolving pricing processes, data, systems and reporting including identifying the need, creating a vision for the future, developing the business case for change, and partnering with other teams to design, create, and implement solutions.

  • Communicate pricing trends and insights to business partners, articulate impacts to current strategy and recommend solutions.

  • Create, sell, and execute consultative pricing services for independent retail distribution customers - responsible for direct customer engagement.

  • Ensure SpartanNash is compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements; maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes to ensure company legal compliance.

  • Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field or equivalent combination of education or experience.

  • Five years Pricing Analytics, Finance, CategoryManagementor related experience.

  • Two years of leadership or management experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong project management, organizational, prioritization and analytical skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to lead and motivateteamsto meet deadlines while ensuring accuracy.

  • Ability tomaintaina strong customer focus and a high degree of professionalism when dealing with internal customers and leaders.

  • Advanced understanding of pricing and promotional principles and best practices.

  • Proficient in MS office applications (i.e.Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Experience with insights, research, and reporting tools
