Description:

AFX is seeking an experienced Inside Sales / Quotation Specialist to support independent sales representatives and customers with product specifications, pricing strategy, and the preparation of competitive bid proposals. This role plays a critical part in managing quotation activity, coordinating internal resources, and supporting projects from initial specification through order execution to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant lighting solutions.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and brings strong technical knowledge of LED lighting products, controls, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage competitive quotations for LED lighting products, retrofit solutions, and accessories
  • Support independent sales representatives, distributors, contractors, and lighting specifiers throughout the quotation and bidding process
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, production, accounting, and supply chain teams to develop compliant project solutions
  • Coordinate quotation approvals, value engineering requests, alternates, and scope changes during bid cycles
  • Ensure all project requirements align with applicable codes, standards, certifications, and rebate qualifications
  • Track quotation activity, revisions, and conversion data using ERP and CRM systems
  • Provide coordination support to ensure a smooth handoff from quotation to order fulfillment
  • Assist in resolving project, delivery, and post-order issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and build strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and sales partners
  • Stay current on LED technology, controls integration, market trends, and competitive offerings


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in lighting industry inside sales, quotations, or project support
  • Proven experience preparing and managing quotations for architectural, specification, or commercial lighting projects
  • Strong understanding of LED lighting products, controls, and performance criteria
  • Familiarity with industry standards, certifications, and rebate or compliance requirements preferred
  • Engineering, technical, or cost-accounting background preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and service excellence
