Job description

Location: Seneca, SC On-site

Type: Full-time

Reports to: Partners

Summary:

Experienced bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online skills to manage full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and month/quarter/year-end close processes. Ideal candidate has experience supporting business tax return preparation (Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065) and working with external accountants.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate general ledger and chart of accounts in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

- Record daily transactions: A/P, A/R, bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed assets.

- Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end close procedures; prepare reconciliations and summary reports.

- Prepare and process payroll (in-house or via payroll providers), payroll tax deposits and filings; prepare payroll reports.

- Support preparation of business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065) — gather schedules, prepare supporting workpapers, and coordinate with CPA.

- Manage sales/use tax and other compliance filings as needed.

- Improve and document bookkeeping processes and internal controls.

- Communicate with vendors, clients, and external accountants; respond to audit requests.

Required Qualifications:

- 3+ years bookkeeping experience with demonstrated QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online proficiency.

- Solid experience with payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.

- Strong month-end close experience, including reconciliations and journal entries.

- Excellent attention to detail, organization and ability to meet deadlines.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience preparing or supporting business tax returns (1120, 1120-S, 1065).

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or bookkeeping certification (e.g., QuickBooks Certified, AIPB).

- Familiarity with payroll platforms (ADP, Gusto, Paychex, etc.) and other accounting integrations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly rate up to $27/hour based on experience. Health insurance and SIMPLE retirement plan. Three weeks paid PTO accrual.
